Gary has a career that stretches across continents as well as sectors, from environmental services in Africa to work in the Middle East and South America working with multinational and inter-governmental organisations such as UN FAO, World Bank and WWF. his interest in the environment began as a graduate trainee at an international insurance company. Each graduate was asked to choose the issues that they thought would affect the sector in the future. It was 1990 and Gary had the foresight to choose global warming.
Martin is an award winning creative director and marketeer who brings over 28 years’ experience in the creative industry to carbon happy world. A specialist in persuasion, Martin works with clients in all areas of brand building and tactical marketing – his experience in brand communications strategy support will help clients devise a considered timeline of activity to maximise their brands messaging around the organisations’ sustainability ambition, enhancing the brands tone of voice, vision, values and profile around the sustainability strategy. Martin will oversee the creative partnership with ambitious clients both strategically and in execution – winning hearts and minds to deliver lasting sustainable results.
After graduating in mathematics from King’s College, Cambridge, Jonny went on to qualify as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young. Jonny then pursued a career in industry, being appointed to senior roles in The Littlewoods Organisation, Marks & Spencer and as an executive director of The Talk Talk Group.
Karan is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in sports, media, and international trade, driven by a passion for business opportunities. As a Senior Trade Advisor at the UK Government's Department for International Trade, he facilitated collaborations between sports businesses in the UK and India. In 2017, he co-founded 'The Coach Crew,' a Mumbai-based platform for sports coaches, exiting in late 2020. In 2022, Karan launched and hosted 'The Business of Sports by The Economic Times,' a podcast exploring the sports business landscape. He has also been instrumental in launching and expanding 'Carbon Happy World,' contributing to its growth since its inception.
Ethan is a full-stack developer with a passion for creating market leading products, utilising modern platforms to deliver the best user experience possible. He develops and maintains our product stack and web presence, so you know you are in safe hands when it comes to our tech offering. Ethan also has specialisms in information architecture, design interfaces and network infrastructures. We are proud to call him our ‘geek’.
Jamie leads the way for design across our entire digital output. His approach of visualising the entire user journey in one cohesive flow sets us apart from the competition. His expertise in UI and UX design and marketing and communications are second to none, making mammoth changes feel manageable through our offerings.
Ann has been at the heart of community and political activity for the past 15 years, as deputy leader of Liverpool City Council she led the community engagement and social renewal policies for the city region. In recent years Ann has devoted her time as a trustee of a charity in Lebanon supporting education for women and girls, food security and sporting activity. Closer to home as managing director for the 'Walton Vale Community Shop' set up in 2019 as a food bank shop, the community trust has grown in reputation and reach, helping with cooking for families on a budget and as a safe and warm place for those who face challenges in these difficult times. At Carbon Happy World Ann is an advisor and non-executive director to the company on sustainable social values and community engagement.
